    [FEDORA] hard disk non visti [RISOLTO]

    La macchina ha i seguenti dischi: 1 Scsi (dove ho installato fedora) 2 Ide con file system FAT32 e NTFS... il problema è che non li vedo... probabilmente non li monta... perchè e come posso risolvere ?

    non riesci a vedere i dischi EIDE?

    Se è così devi editare il file /etc/fstab.

    Dai qualche informazione in più sulla configurazione degli hd (primary o secondary, master o slave) che vediamo di editare questo file

    Linux supporta la FAT in scrittura mentre NTFS solo in lettura.
    Nel caso di fedora il modulo fat viene distribuito gia' compilato mentre per quello NTFS si possono seguire due strade... o lo si abilita ricompilandolo come modulo o includendolo nel kernel oppure da qualche parte (www.google.com) dovrebbe esserci un RPM con il modulo precompilato da installare con l'usuale rpm -ivh

    Cmq non ci hai detto se ci sono partizioni o altro... posta gli screenshot (basta dare questi comandi da terminale) di cfdisk /dev/hda e cfdisk /dev/hdb (sperando che cfdisk sia installato)

    NB
    hdb identifica lo slave sull'ide primario non come hai scritto tu...

    cfdisk non è installato... purtroppo convinto non ci fossero problemi non ricordo bene come è partizionato (penso due partizioni a disco)... tempo fà con mandrake questo non è successo...

    Semplicemente perche' la MDK ha il modulo NTFS gia' compilato e imposta automaticamente le partizioni trovate in /etc/fstab al contrario di Fedora che lascia questo compito all'utente.

    Comunque per il momento posta l'output di

    cat /proc/partitions

    Allora su hda hai due partizioni, una primaria (hda1) e una logica (hda5), mentre su hdb hai una partizione primaria (hdb1)

    Adesso bisogna capire quali sono i filesystem di queste partizioni

    Da root segui le istruzioni che posto (pero' fai attenzione!!!) per usare il comando fdisk

    Comando (m per richiamare la guida): q
    Al posto della X rossa devi mettere prima a e alla seconda esecuzione del programma b... mentre quello e' in BLU sono i "comandi" che devi impartire (la p serve a mostrare la tavola delle partizioni e la q serve ad uscire dal programma)

    QUindi posta l'output di fdisk /dev/hda e fdisk /dev/hdb

    Allora... prima di tutto vai qui ( http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/rpm/fedora1.html) e scegli il file RPM adatto al tuo kernel (per vedere la versione basta dare il comando uname -r) e al tuo processore (i386 - i586 - i686 - athlon)... quindi basta installarlo (o ci clicki sopra o da terminale usi rpm -ivh file.rpm

    Questi sono i filesystem sulle tue partizioni:

    hda1 = NTFS
    hda5 = VFAT
    hdb1 = VFAT

    Crea (da root) le directory in /mnt

    mkdir /mnt/fat1 && mkdir /mnt/fat2 && mkdir /mnt/ntfs

    Poi (sempre da root)

    mount /dev/hda5 /mnt/fat1
    mount /dev/hdb1 /mnt/fat2
    mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/ntfs

    Se non va, prima dei vari mount devi dare i comandi:

    modprobe ntfs && modprobe vfat

    ma dovrebbe essere superfluo...

    Poi ti consiglio di andarti a leggere i vecchi post su /etc/fstab per imparare qualcosa in piu' (permessi, "montaggio" al boot, etc...)
